Mixed Bag

Mixed Bag

The excellent conditions provided by grain, large roosting areas, freshwater, fallow fields and extensive marshlands in the Kono Lodge area ensure our guests will enjoy excellent shooting for duck, dove, perdiz and pigeons over decoys during our mixed bag season from April 15th to July 31st, late Fall and Winter in Argentina.

Perdiz shoots usually take place in the morning. One guide will assist two hunters and as a Brittany Spaniel works productive fields with the group.  Perdiz are about the size of a chukkar and are found in singles in pairs.

The shooting areas and techniques for hunting pigeon are varied. We often conduct hunts over decoys which recreates a hunt surprisingly similar to duck over decoys but, of course, on dry ground. Hunts often take place near large Eucalytpus roosts, feedlots or over harvested fields of sorghum or sunflower. Pigeon shoots normally take place in the afternoon.

  • Dove Fields: from 20 to 40 minutes from the lodge.
  • Duck fields: from 5 minute to 1 hour from the lodge.
  • Perdiz fields: 10 to 45 minutes from the lodge.
  • Pigeons fields: 30 to 1 hr. 20 min from the lodge.
